On January 24, 2024, the CAPTIONPRIN/PNRR project, funded by the Ministry of Universities and Researchin the framework of Projects of Significant National Interest (PRIN), will officially kick off. The projectinvolves the University of Sassari and the University of Teramo, united in a major initiative aimed at exploring and improving carbonaccounting practices and environmental disclosure of listed companies.The Research GroupsThe Department of Economics and Business Sciences at the University of Sassari,project leader, is coordinated by Prof. Katia Corsi and sees the participation of Ludovico Marinò, Alberto Ezza, Nicoletta Fadda, GianfrancoPischedda and Luca Balzani.

At the University of Teramo, the project is led by Prof. Daniela Mancini ecoinvolves corporate experts from the Departments of Law, Communication Sciences and Political Science: Christian Corsi, Manuel DeNicola, Tiziana Di Cimbrini, Alessandro Marelli, Antonio Prencipe and DaniloBoffa.Objectives of the ProjectCAPTION aims to contribute to innovation in the measurement of greenhouse gas emissions and to offer guidelines for improving the reliability and comparabilityof environmental information. These tools are essential to support corporate decision-making processes in the management of climate change.A special focus will be devoted to the identification of national and international best practices in reporting and communication on environmental impact, with the aim of fostering their integration into the decision-making processes of companies and institutions.The kickoff event will be an opportunity to explore these issues and to debate the prospects of a project that promises to have asignificant impact on both academic and operational levels.
